UTAR ICLS MEGA EVENT 2010-DHIRATHII NAKSHATRA NITE(TALENT STAR NITE)

A day filled with energy and colours!

It may be hard to pronounce Dhirathi Nakshatra but the term certainly fitted with extravagance and flow of the event itself. Dhirathi Nakshtra Nite held in UTAR Perak Campus was a platform for many talents. Categories such as singing, dancing and special talents were portrayed during that night.
UTAR Indian Cultural and Language Society certainly made its presence felt by organizing their first event with such grandeur. Inviting VIPs such as Dr. Sebastien.K. Francis, The Dean of Faculty of Arts was certainly the highlight of the event. Judges ranging from Master Bala, a renowed dance master, Suresh Rogan, a composer and recording artist based in Malaysia, Suresh Kee, Chairmen Of Hindu Sangam, Kampar Selatan, and Arumugam, a well respected socialite from Sungkai.
Their presence added some zest to the event and their invigilating was something to be content with. Having experience in their own fields, we can see their effort to look out for the best talents.
The committee members worked their socks off to make this event happen. Many of them showed their commitment and we could see the outcome of the event itself. The decorations, goody bags and etc was commendable and it was job well done.
Yogish Raao, the organizing chairmen of the event stated that they had sleepless dur to the event but it was all worth it. He commended his members for putting it a lot of effort to make this maiden a debut a benchmark for upcoming events.
The highlight of the show would certainly go to the performers. Electrifying dance performances, melodious singing and swashbuckling acting was certainly the major plusses for the event.
The winners of the event certainly deserved their recognition. Rakkimani, 2191 dance group and Cinema Galatta group were the victors of the event and their received trophies, hampers and cash prize. The judges are also bound to give them chance by mentoring them to bring their talents to another level.
Part of the proceeds of the event would go to charity. UTAR ICLS has adopted an estate school in Kampar and they are going to provide them with basic amenities and necessary foundations to develop the school.
By portraying the beauty of Indian culture and also showing their good nature by contributing to charity, we can see these students having the potential to emulate the older generations. Their efforts were laudable and I’m sure the next event would have a much better fanfare and the response for it would certainly increase.

Dhirathi Nakshatra, an event not to forget!
